Cotswold Hills League - Division 2

Winless Itchingtin 1st XI continued their poor run with a woeful performance at windy Winchcombe.
The home side had no hesitation in opting to bat making first use of a road of a pitch with a lightening outfield and short boundaries. 76 were on the board after 10 mostly wayward overs and the first wicket, of skipper Huggett for 67, didn’t fall until the 19th over with the score at 153.
After 30 overs the total was 220-3 but at 260-5, with Craig White only conceding 42 in is 10 overs (10-0-42-1), Itchington had a chance but it was taken away by the big hitting Hale (41) with opener Higgins first passing 100 and shortly thereafter his 150 taking the final score to 348-6.
In reply after 12 overs the shell shocked visitors were 27-4 with their 3 left handers lasting 4 balls between them! Opener Graham Foster was still in residence however and he and Richard Cressey (30) did well before the latter was 5th out at 76.
Another quick wicket followed but Brian Phillips and Foster used all their experience to dig in and thereafter accumulate batting points adding 103 (a new club record for the 7th wicket) before Foster was finally out for 65. Phillips remained unbeaten on 47 as he ushered LI to 206-7.
