Published by Steve Chapman at 8:23 pm under Friendly,Match Reports,Sunday XI

Played Sunday 22nd June

After a wet Saturday Sunday morning dawned bright and breezy to the extent that the match was played for the most part without bails !
Itchington’s Sunday run machine Will Grindal opened the batting with veteran Jeff Rogers and 158 runs were notched in the score book before Rogers departed for an aggressive 76. Grindal though carried on breaking records claiming his 4th ton of a very successful season so far before falling for 101. Greaves (19 n.o.) and Pratt added late runs to take the total to a very healthy 217-3 off the allotted 40 overs.
Earlswood set about the run chase in an aggressive manner openers Price (20) and Dennison (38) aided by No.3 Scott (79) making the most of some below par bowling before Smith with 61 n.o. saw Earlswood home with 6 overs remaining. Carl Elkerton with 2-40 off his 8 was the most successful Itchington bowler.
