The superb hot weather continued for the u13 fixture against Hunningham, who won the toss and batted steadily reaching 42 in 10 overs before losing a wicket. Josh Mann (23) top-scored for Hunningham as they reached 80 for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Under 11 player, man of the match, Adam Jones bowled beautifully for LICC taking 3-7 in his 2 overs.In reply LICC were rarely troubled as they reached the necessary 82 for 1 wicket in 14.3 overs. Sam Green-Armytage was the pick of the batting scoring 28 retired in the comfortable 9 wicket victory.

With rain and rainbows surrounding us LICC won the toss and asked Yelvertoft to bat, no-one expecting to complete the match on Yelvertoft`s excellent new astroturf strip, which enabled the match to start. Good catching especially by Jake and Dan soon had Yelvertoft struggling at 24 for 5 and more poor shots led to their final score of 48 all out in 15.5 overs. Henry Steele impressed with 3 for 4 in his 2 overs, under 11 player Ryan also played well on his debut. Despite some kamikaze running by Sam (11), LICC scored the necessary 53 for 2 wickets in 10 overs to record a surprising win, soon followed by the inevitable drenching !!

On a cold spring evening in Long Itchington, the u13s ground out a solid victory against Oakfield.Oakfield batted first and with Jake and Harris bowling well were soon 15 for 4 from 5 overs. Long Itchington then let Oakfield back into the game by dropping 5 catches at least to enable Oakfield to recover to 76 for 8 in their 20 overs. Opener Chris Goodwin scored 19 not out, Jake Butler 4-2-10-3 and Josh Grimes 2-0-8-2 led the way for LICC.In reply LICC soon lost 2 early wickets which meant Sam and Jake had to consolidate and so made heavy weather of the achievable target.
Luckily Josh Thompson was on hand at the end with 2 well struck 4s to see LICC to 77 for 4 in 16 overs. Jake Butler top-scored with 13 not out and Josh 10 not out enabled LICC u13 to maintain their 2 year+ unbeaten run.But catching practise needed next week!!

Long Itchington u13, unusually one man short, opened their Cup campaign in fine style defeating Yelvertoft by 8 wickets on a cold night in Yelvertoft.
Having won the toss, Yelvertoft batted first and were soon dismissed for 57 in 13.1 overs. Jake Butler took 2 for 3 and Harris Quereshi 4 for 8 with only Rob Sandercock (19) and Alex Pritchett (11) offering resistance for Yelvertoft. Jake also took 2 superb catches in a man of the match performance.
Long Itchington scored the necessary 60 for 2 wickets in 10 overs with Dan Jones and Jake top-scoring with 19 not out each as LICC progress to face Barby in the next round.

The new season started for the young u13 side on a cold,cold evening in Long Itchington against Rugby,who won the toss,decided to bat and scored 67 all out in 17.1 overs. Jason Moyes top-scored for Rugby with 15 but the star performance of the evening came from Harris Quereshi who took 4 for 12 in 3 overs including a hat-trick for Long Itchington. Jake Butler with 26 retired/not out and Sam Green-Armytage with 19 not out led Long Itchington`s reply of 68 for 2 wickets in 12.1 overs to give them victory by 8 wickets and an encouraging start to the season.
