Dear All Junior Cricketers and Parents,

Its that time of year again when young cricketers put away Football and Rugby boots and contemplate the summer ahead with relish we hope. To this end Junior Nets for Long Itchington are starting next week on Tuesday 20th March for 3 weeks (ie March 27th and April 3rd). For u13s (schoolyears 7 & 8) and u15s (schoolyears 9 & 10) we will start at 6-30pm till 7-45pm with the new indoor nets at Princethorpe School. All are welcome including any newcomers and the fee will be £1-50 per session or £ 4-00 for all three on the first night.This year Andy Crump will again be taking charge of the u13s and I will again be with the u15s for the outdoor season.
Outdoor net sessions will start on Sunday 15th April u11s 9-30pm till 11-00pm, u13s & u15s 11-15pm till 12-45pm with Jeff Rogers, Andy Crump, Steve Chapman and Andy Wood coaching.We hope to start Registration at the Indoor Nets and Registration Fees are £20-00 for juniors this year and £1-50 per session or game played as before.Shirt sponsorship this year means we hope to replace junior club shirts during the season. Under 17s are most welcome to join in Senior Nets on Friday evenings during the season and I know Steve Chapman (Tino)( Sunday and 2nd team Captain) is very keen for our older Juniors to become more involved with week-end cricket this year. Under 17s normally have gone to Senior Indoor nets 7-45pm-9-30pm at Princethorpe but can also come to the earlier session if you prefer as the adult session can be a little over-crowded initially.
The u11s this year will again be guided by Steve Rawbone and Clive Haywood and fixtures this year start on Monday evenings with the Warwickshire u11 league fixtures on 30th April and on Thursday evenings with the Rugby and District League on May 17th. There is a Cup competition this year for the u11s with the finals day at Rugby School on Sunday July 8th for all age groups.
The u13s will play in the RDCL on Tuesday evenings starting on April 24th, the u15s on Thursday evenings probable start date May 3rd and the u17s a little later (for exams) on Tuesdays probable start date June 5th but as thats Jubilee day this might be re-arranged.

The Long Itchington Cricket Club AGM is to be held at the Green Man on Friday 24th February 2012.

The start time is 8.00pm

Please be aware that all posts are up for re election should someone be nominated.

As you may be aware the Division 5 side of the CHL will need a new Captain this year as Graham Foster is standing down due to work commitments
